Our Family Farm Story

Our family has been farming in Prince George County since the 1600s. We pride ourselves in being descendants of those who founded the county back in 1702. Since then the family business transformed in various ways and eventually, the government paid for us to stop farming in 1970. That is, until a new generation came about. So we took over the land our grandfathers had and started our own farm knowing it was in our blood.

We, Travis and Kayla, have been together since we were teenagers and it has been a dream of ours to raise a family on our ancestral land. We started with just a few -native to Virginia- grapevines (muscadine) in 2015. From there, we grew to add a variety of produce and hay. In 2020 we started raising laying hens, adding to our flock every year as we navigate what it really means to have chickens (protecting them from predators).

In 2023 we grew our family by adding the most perfect addition, our daughter. Raising her on the farm is our biggest blessing as she loves all things tractors and fresh vegetables. We look forward to expanding every year and growing/doing what we love.

Building our dreams, one corn seed at a time.

Planting corn is a family affair at Carry Me Back Farms. We love including our daughter in various farm chores.
